I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing in these past couple of weeks. I’m seeing all of the things I should’ve changed or the times should have had different reactions to situations. and honestly, I’m kinda perturbed…
but hopefully I’ll be able to use these experiences and these regrets to change how I act in the coming years.

Quality time
Today I came home from church to spend some time with my dad, which I’ve been doing for the past week. Which has been great! So we decided to fix up our bikes and go ride them at the beach. Break
I really enjoyed my spring break this year. I was able to finish off the school week well, so that I could relax and have fun during break. And that is exactly what I did. I spent some time with my family, my tennis friends, (part) of my sg, and some old friends. I’m not quite ready to go back to school again and re-enter the hectic-ness..but I’m definitely grateful for that break and...
i had a very relaxing day today. lots of guitar playing, sheet music, scales, and jazz chord progressions. lots of tasty food (cupcake, loco moco). and a very fun time with friends. looking forward to seizing tomorrow in a more productive way. :)

I did it!
This past week was ridiculously stressful and tiring. But I worked really hard and everything worked out really well :D. I’m really happy now, and kind of proud of myself. And now I’m PUMPED for break and everything that I have planned. -kelly.

Cousins!
For the past two days I have been calling or emailing a few of my cousins to seek random advice or just to talk and laugh. Normally I wouldn’t bother to do so, because all my cousins are old and live in San Francisco. But I’m glad that I made the effort, because they’re all really cool and hilarious people. And I’ve also been spending time hanging out with younger sisters...

Today, the Spirit prompted me to take action about some of the many convictions I’ve had lately! I was reminded of why some things go the way they do and the effect one active, Christian life can have on others (believers and non-believers).

Miracle Worker
This past weekend, was the BEST weekend I’ve had in a while. Saturday I went to Irvine and had dinner with my brother at Houston’s (greatest restaurant in the world). Sunday I went to a family friend’s 91st birthday! And to my surprise, it was honestly the best party I have ever been to in my life. SO AWESOME! yesterday and today… i literally got mad. i was mad at how certain people treat me. i was mad at the choices some people make. i was mad that i had to deal with other people’s problems—yet, i was the bad guy. i was mad at bad drivers. i was mad at not having cable. and finally i realized what a whiny baby i’m being. it’s a new day… why spend it mad?

Today Shaun came home from school, and we all went out to dinner to celebrate my daddy’s birthday. And I raised all of my grades to what I want them to be. And tonight I look forward to sleeping in, for the first time in forever. -kelly.

Yesterday we celebrated a late Valentine’s Day dinner at Roy’s where we got a free appetizer, 2 free desserts and random discounts! And it was all suuuuuper delicious. =) day seized!!

After service I went into the kindergarten/1st grade class to play with the kids for a little bit. And I noticed that there were TWO more kiddos in the class! I don’t know why, but that makes me SO happy. -kelly.

This past weekend at retreat was a miracle and incredible blessing for me. Not only was I not planning on going in the first place, but I never would have expected to learn as much as I did. And most of all, I wasn’t expecting to hear God. But He always tends to surprise me. I met and built relationships with awesome brothers and sisters and I spent a lot of time bonding with the cabin...
funny the way it is...
for the past two weeks straight, i’ve probably been at the library for about 30 hours. that’s hardly an overestimate. but the coolest thing about this whole new habit is that in addition to finishing all my homework thoroughly, i’ve also been able to exercise, QT, and chat with friends more than i have in a long time.

Sex, love, and God
Yesterday I went to the second part of a two-day event called Sex, Love, and God about how God wants to heal those who have sinned against Him and draw them close. My friends and I had an awesome time of God-centered fellowship before and after, and we were able to worship and celebrate the God who’s power, love, and longing for His people we underestimate. LA Mart
Today I went to LA Mart with my mom and got a glimpse of her interior designery world. We also finally had a clear conversation with minimal hurt. this is my break after essentially 3 hours of nonstop work. and i’m still not close to being finished. but it’s progress. and God’s been too gracious to even give me the breaths that i use to sigh. and if homework is one of my biggest problems, i’ve got it good. i was encouraged a whole lot by friends that might not have even intended to, and probably still don’t know...

eye of the hurricane?
God gave me a pretty relaxing day, which is sure to be the only one I’m going to have for another two weeks-ish so it was greatly appreciated. I took a nice Switchfooty, Hello-Hurricaney, breezy, sunny drive along the coast and realized:God’s given us a gorgeous world in which to live. Today’s sunset was a crazy explosion of purples and oranges. :)

this new year started off as an epic crash-and-burn of sorts. but there are those times when God takes my mind off the burning wreck that i’ve caused and reminds me that nothing will always go exactly as i plan, whether things turn out worse or (in today’s case) better. Day seized. :)

I’ve had an extremely rough year this year with a lot of trials and dissappointments and failures and heart break. All of which have been tearing me apart and wearing me down. But after tonight, I like to think that I’ll get a fresh new start and a clean slate. I’m hoping that this will be my come back year. -kelly.
